A rare Chelsea banjo clock custom ordered and retailed by Smith, Patterson Company of Boston, MA, an exclusive, high end jeweler. It was likely purchased new by the Albertina Kerr Charity Foundation For Children in 1926. On the Kerr website, the clock can be seen in photos mounted in one of the institution's parlors. On display in their facility for nearly 100 years, there is a plate in the interior compartment behind the tablet glass indicating prior ownership of the clock by the the Kerr Foundation.
